Iain Fry
President
Iain began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the city of San Jose in 2005. He came to the San Leandro Police Department in 2012. He is currently assigned to Patrol. Iain has served as a Field Training Officer, Hostage Negotiator, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Homeless Liaison officer and Police Explorer Advisor. This is his second term on the POA board.
Ryan Lovel
Vice President
Ryan began his law enforcement career as a Deputy Sheriff of Alameda County in 2015. Born and raised in San Leandro, he decided to join the San Leandro Police Department in June of 2020. He is currently assigned to the patrol division and is serving as a Field Training Officer and SWAT Team member. He holds his Bachelor’s degree in Biology. This is his first term as a POA board member.

Maria Faumuina
Secretary
Maria was born and raised in San Leandro. She became a full time San Leandro Police Department employee in 2011 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Maria has served as a records clerk, a police services technician, and most currently is assigned to the patrol division. In 2019, Maria became the first female police officer to join the department’s SWAT team.
Miguel Salazar:
Board Member
Miguel began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the city of San Jose in 2009. He joined the San Leandro Police Department in 2015. Miguel was a detective within the SLPD Criminal Investigations Division from 2020 until 2023, when he was promoted to sergeant. Miguel is currently assigned to patrol. This is his first term as a POA board member.
Mike Benz
Board Member
Mike began his career as a Police Officer with the San Leandro Police Department in 2006. During his career, Mike was a Crimes Against Persons Detective, a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team, Evidence Response Team, Intelligence Team and Peer Support Team. Currently, Mike is assigned to the patrol division and serves as a Field Technician, Field Training Officer and a Wellness Team Member.
Dennis Mally
Board Member
Dennis was born and raised in San Leandro and went to Saint Felicitas Catholic School. Dennis started his career at the San Leandro Police Department as a college intern in 2004. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from San Jose State University and graduated the police academy in 2006. Dennis is currently assigned to the patrol division and is a Field Training Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and is a former K-9 handler with his retired partner Rohan. This is his first term as a POA board member.
Cole Pricco
Board Member
Cole began his employment with the San Leandro Police Department in 2015, as an intern, and later became a police officer in 2018. He is currently assigned to the patrol division and is a member of the SWAT Team, Range Instructor, and Field Training Officer. Cole holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Public Administration. This is Cole’s first term on the POA as a board member.
Joseph Kalsbeek

Joe began his law enforcement career as a police officer with the city of San Jose in 2006. He came to the San Leandro Police Department in 2011. During his career, Joe was a Crimes Against Persons Detective, a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team, Evidence Response Team, Wellness Team and Peer Support Team. He is currently assigned to Patrol and serves as a Field Training Officer, SWAT Operator, Firearms Instructor, and Evidence Technician.
Lisette Lopez
Board Member
Lisette was born and raised in San Leandro, ca. she became a part-time San Leandro police department employee in 2015 where she became a college intern for the records division. Lisette has served as an explorer, college intern, and police service technician. In 2019, she began her career as an officer with the San Leandro police department. Lisette is currently assigned to the patrol division where she serves as a field training officer, evidence technician, and a member of the SWAT team.
Wesley Leonard

In 2019, Wesley began his career with the San Leandro police department. Wesley is currently assigned to the patrol division, where he is also a field training officer, a UAV operator, a firearm instructor, as well as a member of the hostage negotiation team. This is Wesley’s first term on the POA as a board member.
