The SLPOA serves The City of San Leandro and Its Members With Honor and Pride
The San Leandro Police Officers Association Board is made up of 9 members (4 Executive Members and 5 Board Members). The Association operates under the guidelines set forth in the SLPOA By-laws. It is an active corporation on file with the California Secretary of State since 1947. The San Leandro Police Officers Association is a "nonprofit organization" promoting social welfare causes and is listed as a "501(c)(4)" organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
The organization is politically active within the community supporting local politics and maintains a PAC (Political Action Committee). The San Leandro Police Officers Association's PAC account is registered with the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC).
The Association is a member of the Police Officers Research Association of California (PORAC).
The San Leandro Police Officers Association is a bargaining group within the City of San Leandro representing Sworn Police Officers and Sergeants. The Association extends limited services to sworn management and non-sworn civilian staff. Currently there are 117 dues-paying members within the San Leandro Police Officers Association.
